About Ashwood Vets
Founded in 2009 by Patrick and Rebecca McKee, Ashwood Vets began as a small, community-focused practice in Dundonald with a simple goal: to provide compassionate, high-quality care to pets and their families.
What started with a handful of team members and a clear vision has grown into a trusted veterinary practice serving clients from both our Dundonald and Saintfield clinics.
From routine health checks and preventative care to advanced soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgery, our experienced team works together to ensure every patient receives thoughtful, professional care tailored to their individual needs.
We are proud to be part of the local community and to have built long-standing relationships with the many pet owners who trust us with their animals' health and wellbeing.
This trust has also been reflected in the recognition we have received. Ashwood Vets has been named Best Veterinary Practice in Northern Ireland at the BestUKVet Awards for six consecutive years, from 2021 to 2026. These awards are based on genuine client reviews and recognise practices for their professionalism, friendliness, value for money, cleanliness and the respect shown to every pet.
In 2026, we were also delighted to be named Veterinary Practice of the Year for Northern Ireland at the National Pet Awards, following nominations and votes from our clients and the wider community.
In July 2025, we opened our second location in Saintfield. Our team works across both clinics, allowing us to provide continuity of care from the familiar faces you know and trust.
